J.M.W. Turner was a landscape painter and student of the Royal Academy of Arts in 1789. As a young teen during the Romantic Period, he studied the fine arts and ultimately became one of Britain’s most loved artists, proving you’re never too young to become an artist.
This lovely book with its beautiful watercolor illustrations will serve as a sketchbook for your budding artist. Perfect for crayons, color pencils or even watercolor paints, there are plenty of great activities for young children and tweens to enjoy. I particularly enjoyed the activity that teaches kids how to draw with a white crayon and paint over it with watercolors to create unusual works of art they are sure to enjoy.
Some activities are given a full page while others provide only a small space so you might need to have extra paper and art supplies handy for those who need more space.
Author Lizzy Stewart uses works by J.M.W. Turner to teach children various painting and drawing methods in easy to understand language.

Meet The Artist: J.M.W. Turner is the perfect tool for the budding painter, and the lessons they will learn will keep them creating long after they’ve finished the book.
