‘It wasn’t the carved oak furniture, or the faded green drapes, or the warmth of the fire that made her stop dead. It was the dark-haired woman seated behind the desk. Maeve, Queen of the Fae.

    Her aunt.

And then came the words she had been dreading for ten years.

A mixed bag of emotions
Hmm. How to feel, how to feel, how to feel…

It’s hard to know exactly how I’m meant to feel about this book.

On one hand, I’m kinda happy that the series managed to close in such a way (unlike some series’ *cough* Divergent *cough*). On the other hand…I’m not totally convinced The One was well thought out.

‘”Pretty, isn’t it?” he said. “Didn’t the Elders tell you about this?”

“Of course,” Ileni said stiffly, letting the magelight vanish.

What they had said, actually, was ‘Parts of the caves are very beautiful, but don’t let that distract you from the evil within them.”

The good thing about losing everything, is that you’ve got…Read more

Thrilling & a delight to read
Gail Carriger should be in charge of the educational system.

Imagine a world where young men learn the skills to become the next evil geniuses, and young women are taught the fine art of curtseying – as well as those of poisoning, deceit and espionage.

Certainly these skills are far more valuable than English, Maths…Read more

Mortal Heart by Robin LaFevers Review
“Your love cannot change a man or a god. All it can do is open a door, create a new path for him to choose. One that has not been open to him before. That is what the power of your love can offer him – all of that, and no more.
