Another chilling story from L.V. Pires. This one started out with the main character from Book 1, Casey, fighting an uphill battle for her mental health. With a cast of unreliable characters surrounding her, there's no telling who is actually doing the killing until the very last pages. A Pain Less Ordinary is a tragic tale of a modern girl whose family has fallen apart. Becca struggles to figure out who she is when there are few adults to help guide her. Her compassion for her little sister had me crying, especially at the end. It's a great read for teens who might be struggling with the same thing.

I'm not normally one to read horror fiction, but I thought I'd give this book a chance and was blown away. It had me on the edge of my seat from the beginning. I wanted to figure everything out and it was hard to put down. The ending was completely unexpected. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
