About me

I love stories. My obsession began in fourth grade, after I devoured the novel, Bambi, and found it better than the movie. I taught in elementary schools for five years where I was able to indulge myself with books I had never really outgrown. Since childhood I’ve played at writing, even managed to publish several articles and short stories, but the day I tried my hand at a novel, I was hooked! So what do I write? Here’s a three-word nutshell:

Adventure: I won’t read a book that doesn’t transport me to an exciting new world. Won’t write one, either.

Innocence: My target audiences range from 9 to 15. Kids. They shouldn’t be marketed profanity or controversy. Instead, I rely on fun, solid story-telling.

Substance: I prefer stories with some depth to them. A hero who grows and learns and changes can influence a reader to do the same.

Though I write material appropriate for younger readers, a well-written story is a well-written story. Many a grown-up has applauded my work and asked, “Why is this just for kids?”
