Mermaid Lullaby is perfect for young fans of all things mermaid. This book would work well for toddler-kindergarten readers with the vivid exploration of colors and simple sentences to tell the story. The illustrations are a detail-filled feast for the imagination as the mermaids go through a wonderful day exploring all the colors. This book would work particularly well as a book for nap or bedtime with its calm and soothing story. Overall, this is a sweet book great for fans who would love a mermaid book.

A group of mermaids wake up one morning and realize it's a perfect day for exploring the colors their rich environment has to inspire them. Swimming and diving, children get a new take on learning the all of the different colors in our world. In this format, the mermaids use things children won't see everyday which adds more intrigue to learning them. At the end of their adventure, the mermaids find their way back home for some much needed sleep.

MERMAID LULLABY teaches children their colors while inspiring them with bright illustrations of aquatic life. The only thing I don't like is how sometimes the contracting colors of the pictures make it difficult to read the text. The writing is lyrical with a rhyming scheme blended in with each introduction to a color. Mermaids make great characters because children love the mystery of them.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to early readers who love mermaids and adventure and for those learning their colors. This is a unique way to teach them and I love how the author has an enchanting writing style.
