An adorable story about an upbeat superhero girl.
Mia is a superhero, a fact only her best friend is aware of. When the school announces their new play is about superheroes, Mia knows she has to try out. Only, things don't go exactly as planned. She's so nervous, she gets stage fright and doesn't do so well. This gets her cast as a tree with no lines. All she can do is watch her friends and classmates prepare for the roles she wanted to play.
With the help of her friend, she quickly turns her disappointment into a positive and realizes there's more she can do to help the production and her fellow actors and actresses.
There's a positive feeling in this book that makes it a pleasure to read. Mia could sulk the entire book, but instead, she finds the good in everything. She just wants to be involved and finds ways to do it. It's a positive message from an adorable little girl. The writing is simple enough for a kid to read it themselves but entertaining enough if they want an adult to read it.
The images are fun and engaging.
Final Verdict: A cute story that's sure to be a hit with little girls and boys everywhere that they can read themselves, with positive messaging and a good moral.
