Awesome graphic novel
In this continuation of Jurassic Jeff’s graphic novel adventures, Jeff the alien explorer and his dino friends set out to recover Jeff’s warp drive and hopefully find some long-lost dino parents along the way. Their quest is far from easy, and the friends must overcome non-stop challenges, including broken translation software, stubby arms, and what happens when Jeff forgets to feed his pet.
This volume is a wild ride, with non-stop laughs from beginning to end. The humor is everything I’d expect from a middle grade graphic novel, and then some. There’s language jokes, potty jokes, existential remarks, and a tiny fish running around on legs. As an adult reader, I appreciate how the story sneaks in sly nuggets of humor to get a chuckle from older folks picking up the book, while still remaining age appropriate.
Although this is Volume 2, the opening pages neatly recap prior events and this book can be enjoyed all on its own. In addition to the story, there’s assorted bonus end materials, including a cookie recipe and how-to-draw tutorials of the characters.
A zany adventure for fans of aliens, dinosaurs, and the shenanigans that come with the two being together.
