Lunella Lafayette grew up in a family of skaters and takes those skills to the streets. To fight criminals, she takes on the identity of Moon Girl and works alongside Devil Dinosaur to save the day. With her best friend as her hype-girl, Moon Girl's fan page is thriving, but she also catches the attention of an enemy who recognizes her skill and wants to use it for himself.

When a skater gets hurt, Lunella gets the opportunity to try out for a roller derby team. However, they have a secret that will affect Lunella more than anyone. After making the team, she's torn between spending time with Devil Dinosaur and practicing with her team. In the end, her decision is made for her and she has to work with Devil to stop Mr. Tiven and his team.

MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR is a perfect action read for younger fans of graphic novels. While kicking butt is the primary goal, this book also highlights the importance of friendship. I'm curious to see where Moon Girl is going to go in the future. For those who would rather their children read than watch tv, this is for you. I love the bold illustrations and it feels like an entertaining comic book for children.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to children aged eight and up who enjoy superheroes and graphic novels. It's full of action and impressive skating skills as Moon girl joins the Marvel team.
