My Name is Mina is about, of course, a girl called Mina. Mina is different, she doesn't think like other children and always ask why. She sits in her tree in her garden, and either writes thought down in her journal or stares at the wonderful creation of nature, especially the birds who had made a nest in her tree.
This book had no real plot, but was all really thought base. The main event happened on the last page, so to lead onto the next book. The story spent time telling the reader about Mina's past, and what happened up to the point where she was writing her journal.
I've never read a book like this one, Mina was truly free, free as the birds who flew around in the sky or her mind. No one held her down, and her mother encouraged her free-thinking. Mina is a rare girl, where the world is restricted by school, and no time to just to be free.
