New Moon (Twilight #2)
User reviews
When Edward Cullen leaves Bella alone, she is left without the one thing that has held her above for so long. Lost and confused, she turns to her childhood friend, Jacob Black, for comfort. As the story blossoms, the reader comes to see a deeper relationship through the healing of a broken heart.
NEW MOON is truly an example of standing back on your feet after a love lost. Bella Swan struggles to move on after Edward leaves her with the Cullens, but she manages to enjoy life again and live. Forgiveness and redemption are strong threads throughout this book.
A slower portion of the series, NEW MOON is still a truly remarkable novel, filled with more secrets and shocking revelations.
The first time I read this book, I thought "wow this is boring." I didn't care about Jacob and I only wanted Edward to come back. i basically skipped half of the book. I re-read it the other day and I read it all. It was really good. It really captures the connection between Bella and Jacob. It couldn't put it down, even after the third time I read it. I am going to read it again soon, it was awesome!
New moon, the sequel of the best selling book, Twilight still captures readers attention, but it could have been better. The lack of Edward Cullen in the book, both saddened and bored many readers. Bella has finally thought that everything is great with Edward and his family, but what she doesnt expect, happens. To protect Bella from danger, Edward Cullen and his family move away. Bella, shocked by his decision of leaving her, drowns in depression. Her friends act as if she is a zombie and months pass with her condition. Slowly though, Jacob Black starts to show Bella the great things in life. However, Bella makes a huge mistake that sets both Edward and herself in danger.
This book is a crucial part of the series but readers often skip out many of the parts due to "boredom" of Jacob. I thought that this book still had the chemistry between Edward and Bella even though they werent together. I still kept my hopes high of them reuniting sooner or later. Overall, this book was not the best book of the Twilight series but I give it a 3.5/5.
New Moon is the much-anticipated second book in the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. This book, unlike Twilight, focuses more on Jacob and his issue of being a werewolf. This book can bring about a great range of emotions - from hatred to anger to empathy.
This a great book to show different perspectives of the same situation and I would recommend it for teens.
this was the book that i disliked least in the whole saga. i know that edward leaving made the story that much better but it was still frustrating hearing the sad thoughts bella was going through. I was also mad when bella started to like jacob but that was all expllained in the fourth book and i wont ruin that secret. all in all a good book but kind of sad in the beginning.
In the beginning of this book, Edward makes the hard decision to leave Forks and Bella behind for her own safety. Bella sinks into utter despair and depression, you can almost feel the hole inside herself that she talks about and feels. Her saving grace is her old friend Jacob. He makes her feel not like Edward, but a little more whole. He makes no secret of his feelings for her and she makes it clear that she is not whole that way. But then Jacob becomes a werewolf, the enemy of the vampires, and Edwards's sister, Alice, comes back to visit Bella. Due to a misunderstanding, Edward thinks Bella is dead, and goes to Italy to try to get the Volturi, an ancient vampire allegiance, to kill him. Bella must deal with her strong connection with Jacob and her undeniable love for Edward. She still longs to become a vampire to be with Edward forever. She and Alice fly to Italy to try to stop Edward. Will they get to him in time, what will happen if they don't, what will happen if they do? This is a gripping book and the reunion is memorable in many ways and also leaves more loose ends, more questions, more problems. It is a good addition to Twilight and a good preface to Eclipse.
A short summary: It is about Bella Swan who's boyfriend is Edward Cullen. So she's at this party and slices her finger. Then, Jasper, Edward's brother, tries to attack her, reacting to the smell of her human blood, merely out of instinct. So, to protect Bella, the Cullens' move away, far away. Then, from there, Bella's life is worthless. To try and mend, she reunites with an old friend, Jacob Black. What happens beyond this point is something the reader will never suspect!
I really loved this book! When Bella and Alice go to the Volturi and found out that Edward thinks Bella is dead, the suspense REALLY builds and something very unexpected happens! I love the part in the book where Bella is with Jacob. The thoughts she gets about Edward are soo sweet! This book with leave you hungry for the next one, Eclipse!

In this sequel to Twilight, Bella deals with life after Edward leaves. Luckily, her new friend Jacob is around to help her through the heartache. After a horrible misunderstanding, a frantic trip to Italy, and an encounter with the most powerful vampires in the world, can Bella and Edward's love survive?
Of the four books in the Twilight series, this is my least favorite, but it is still a great book! It was maybe just a tad heavy on the teenage angst. What I loved was the parallel to Romeo and Juliet and the examination of the question "What if Juliet had chosen Paris?
I didn't like this book as much as Twilight (the first book in this series), but this book was okay. I liked the ending; Edward was all over it. Well, let's say the reason I love this series was because of Edward. I didn't like this one as much because there was not much of him in it. Basically, it lead us through Bella's depression as he "left". Bella meets Jacob, who she becomes temporarily happy with. In the end, Edward thinks she's dead, and tried to kill himself, bujt Bella comes in time. The only problem is, they promised the Volturi that Bella would become a vampire, and at the end, the Cullen family (Edward's vampire family, 7 people including him, excluding the to-be Bella), vote that Bella should become a vampire.
I repeat: This book isn't as good as Twilight, so if you want to keep the good image of Twilight going, I don't suggest you read this book, but if you want to carry on through the series, then read away! I hope there's more of Edward in the next book!
