'Night' is the heart-wrenching true story of a young Jewish boy who is rounded up by the Nazis and sent to Auschwitz. The young boy is none other than the author, Eliezer Wiesel. In this book he tells of his horrific experiences as an inmate of the Nazi concentration camp system and his struggle for survival. In the middle of the death and desperation, young Elie struggles only to remain near his father, without which, he would have no will to live. 'Night' is also a story about lost faith, as the once devout Elie defiantly rebukes the God that did nothing to stop these indescribable horrors. I put this book down with a heavy heart. I was angered and saddened, and I can honestly say that this is one of the most moving books that I have ever read.
