Hope Shay, born Bernadette Romano, is an actress and quite the character. Throughout the book, I developed a love/hate relationship with Hope. In some ways I could relate to her, so I guess that’s where the love part comes from. Overall, Hope Shay is a piece of work. She acts, she sings, she falls in love with a senior (while being a sophomore) and she has an attitude.
I absolutely LOVED this book. This was a choice read for me and I picked it because Hope’s an actress. I love acting. Anyway, at first this was a little hard to get through because of some boring parts.. But once you get into the story and develop feelings for the characters, I promise you’ll love it. I do warn though, that there is a BIG plot twist towards the end, and when I got to that part I felt like jumping out of a window. Seriously, it felt like all the time I spent on reading the book was a waste. But I guess I was turning into a second Hope because I was being way to dramatic. In the end I loved it. You have to be a really talented writer to make me want to jump out of window. :P
This book is a MUST read. There are some semi-inappropriate parts, so I would suggest this to girls (and maybe guys) 12+. I HOPE you read it. Heh, get it? Hope.. :P

At the opening of the book, the narrator seems to be just another stuck up snot who no one can stand. Regardless of this fact, the story moves at a quick pace, forcing the reader to read faster and faster until the finish. Each sentence in this book is a clue towards the ending and it is written in a marvelous style that appeals to mystery lovers and non alike.
The continuance of this story is critical and every move the narrator makes forces the reader to continue reading, loving her and hating her all at the same time. A true character developed in a realistic plot line. Amazing.

The title of this review is exactly what I said when I finished "Now you See her"!
Hope Shay is Bernadette Romano's stage name. Hope attends a prestige acting academy and has just landed the starring role of juliet in Romeo and Juliet! In her real life romance Logan, a famous actor, falls in love with hope and everyone is jealous. They plan to run away to La and live together but there's a flaw in their plan, a big flaw!
This book is definetly worth the read!

This book is way different from what I normally read. Hope is a person that u feel sorry for throughout the book. Because how everyone treats her even her parents like she will only be notice for how good she performs but not by anything else. When she finally gets the chance to go to a school where there are people like her that like acting. She finds out that she still doesnt fit in. After a while she find her true love and will do anything for them two to be together. So she does unexpected, she plans her own abduction. She takes her biggest role yet showing everybody if all the acting classes she took where worth not having a like. You find out why she did this the reason behind her crazy thinking. This book kept me turning each page because I wanted to know what was going to happen to hope. To later find out a hole different thing. This book turned out to be a mystery book that I think some people will enjoy while others will find confusing.

Now You See Her by Jacquelyn Mitchard is an amazingly realistic look into the life of a self-centered girl who has been showered with attention from her parents all her life. Bernadette, or Hope, her stage name, dreams of being a famous actress and she is willing to do anything to get to the top. Her mother has always pushed her so hard, and now her mothers dreams for Hope are her own. Hope knows shes the best and explains that her lack of friends is simply because everyone is jealous of her talent.
At fourteen, she is accepted into Starwood Academy, a prestigious acting school in Michigan. Hope is sure that this is where her career will take off, and she doesnt mind in the least that she is a bit of an outcast. After all, she has Logan. Logan Rose. The most amazing boy she has ever met. Hope finds herself lost in her infatuation with Logan. Everything in her life revolves around their budding romance.
The two of them formulate a plan, a plan to elope when Logan graduates. Their plan requires one thing, money, which they plan to extract from Hopes parents by faking her abduction. Faking a kidnapping is a risky business, but Hope is willing to do anything for Logan, anything for their future together. Hope dreams of the day when the two of them will be winning Academy Awards together, the perfect couple.
Hopes story is told through her own eyes, and I felt every emotion with her. I felt the pride in her triumphs as well as the pain of feeling lost and confused, like you are the only one who knows the truth. But it is only at the end, when the truth is finally revealed, that you realize that Hope Shay is not all that she appears to be.
