NUMBER TRAIN is a fold-out interactive board book for toddlers and preschoolers that combines counting with flaps, rhymes, and animal fun. The book goes through a train of animals, with each flap showing the number of animals doing an activity up to 10. The flip side of the fold-out train includes images of the animals mixed up for children to seek-and-find.

What I loved: This is a such a fun concept and takes it to another level with a board book that folds out into a long train. The flaps on each page add to the interactive nature of the book, as do the flip side for a seek-and-find/counting task. The animals are colorful and doing plenty of entertaining things all along the train, and the rhyming text makes this roll off the tongue and a delight for the ears. The wheels on the cover are an added joy, as children can wheel the book like a train.

The font is clear and easy to read throughout, accompanied by brightly colored and engaging illustrations on each page. For train and animal lovers, this is sure to be a hit!

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, the pages and flaps were a thinner board book material, just a bit thicker than cardstock. This makes them easy to tear for rip-the-flap readers. A thicker material would make this last longer for rougher little ones.

Final verdict: NUMBER TRAIN is a delightful, interactive board book that is sure to charm little ones with bright colors, fun flaps to lift, and a great train concept.
