THE WORLD IS BREAKING. AND SO ARE THEY.

KATE HARKER isn't afraid of monsters. She hunts them. And she's good at it.

AUGUST FLYNN once yearned to be human. He has a part to play. And he will play it, no matter the cost.

THE WAR HAS BEGUN.

THE MONSTERS ARE WINNING.

Kate will have to return to Verity. August will have to let her back in. And a new monster is waiting—one that feeds on chaos and brings out its victims' inner demons.

Which will be harder to conquer: the monsters they face, or the monsters within?

4.5 Stars!
Our Dark Duet was equally fascinating and exciting as This Savage Song.
August and Kate team up again to hunt a new monster after a few months apart. I liked the characters and the new friends Kate found, plus the addition of Soro was also very interesting.
The plot was action packed with a lot of surprises leading up to the dramatic conclusion.
This was definitely an intriguing duology!

Oh my. I don't even know what to say about this book and how much I loved it. I wanted to fly through it because it was so good, but didn't want to finish. The pacing was great and while This Savage Song started a bit slow, Our Dark Duet picked up right away.

August. I loved that he was a monster who wanted to be human. He wanted to feel and did have some humanity to him. He cared about everyone around him.

Kate. Her strength and need to fight for the right reasons (mostly) now made me adore her. She was human fighting to keep her humanity and not give in to the chaos.

Sloan and Alice were horrible. I wanted them both to die slow, painful deaths.

Victoria Schwab's creativity is impressive. The monsters were all so different and there were quite a few lessons we could all learn from in these books. It doesn't take a lot for good to turn bad. Some will regret it later on while others will continue to get worse and feed off it. Verity was an interesting city divided between two sides. One for power and control and the other for good and humanity.

And that ending...

Victoria Schwab is now a new favorite.
