The siblings are very excited to celebrate at Aunt Babe's house, where there are too many aunties, uncles, and cousins to count. And all is peaceful and bright—until they realize that someone forgot to bring the dessert! Francesco and Danielle know they can save Christmas, but only if they can remember their mother's cheesecake recipe before it's too late.
This festive tribute to food and family will get young readers in the holiday spirit and make them very hungry for a Christmas feast—Italian style!

Our Italian Christmas Eve was such a cute and unique look at an Italian-American families Christmas Eve dinner traditions. The different foods eaten, and how to save the day when a relative inadvertently forgets to bring dessert!
I like that it was a big extended family that got together for the holiday. My children could connect with the story this way, as we always get together with a good portion of our extended family.
The illustrations are cute and silly. I love the festiveness of them all.
The author includes a note about The Feast of the Seven Fishes, its potential origins and meaning. This opened up conversations about different traditions and beliefs with my children.
They also included a recipe for Mom's Cheesecake that my children are super excited to bake!
