This book is a winner (no pun intended). This hilarious story paired with the most perfect illustrations will definitely leave an impression on you. Pig, our main character, should have been completely unlikeable and yet his outrageous actions and imperfections are what make him so lovable!

This story follows Pig, the pug, who is clearly obsessed with winning. The way in which he wins isn’t a problem to him, as long as he’s always #1. You see Pig throw tantrums, sob, and even cheat in order to win. The illustrations here are what really made this such a hilarious read because they showed how dramatic Pig really is with his facial expressions.

Trevor, the dachshund, was by Pig’s side throughout the book had his own expressions that only made Pig look more outrageous. The side-eyed looks Trevor constantly was giving Pig were the best parts.

Final Verdict:

This book is one that you need on your shelf. It is playful, easy to follow, and the illustrations alone will have you bursting with laughter. Not to mention that Pig the Pug teaches his readers a valuable lesson about winning and losing. Who could resist such a crazy pug?
