PLAYTIME ON THE FARM is a delightful touch-and-feel story. Puppy has a ball and is looking for someone to play with him. However, most of the animals are not yet ready to play. Finally, Puppy finds Lamb, who is happy to play with him, and they play all afternoon. Puppy then returns home tired to fall asleep as he tells his father about his day. The book combines illustrations with photographs of animals and touchable items on each page spread.

What I loved: This is a sweet story about a Puppy with a new ball that he is excited to play with. As he visits the other baby animals, children will recognize the feeling of needing someone to play with. Luckily, Puppy's adventure ends in success when he plays with Lamb. The end of the book brings bedtime for Puppy after a fun day, which will work well as a bedtime story. It was also great to see Puppy interacting with his father, which is always good to see in books for young children.

The text is a bit longer than other board books, which will make this work well for toddlers and preschoolers. The touchable items on each page spread add some interactive fun. Most of the items are fur, making for some very soft things to feel. The clear and large font makes it easy for caregivers to read aloud.
