Review Detail

Powerful is a compelling addition to the Powerless world. The bubbly personality of Adena stars in her own story about meeting grumpy Mak during the time that Paedyn is whisked off to the trials at the palace. The sunshine and grumpy trope is the perfect match for Adena’s character.
I am in full support of the way their relationship deepens during the novella and devoured this story quickly. You should read Powerless to fully understand the context of this story. If you have read Powerless then you know the ending regarding Adena’s character. That makes for a dramatic ending here as well as we flesh out that portion of the story from her perspective.
Overall, this was a wonderful revisit into the world that Lauren Roberts has created. It whets our appetite for the sequel, where we will hopefully have Mak joining to play a role in what happens next. I look forward to seeing what happens.
