this is the second book in the series.
Tally is in a whole new world.it's way different from the smoke. since she gave herself up to try the treatment, she was sent back to "pretty town" and she was turned pretty. there she become part of a hot clique called Crims. instandly she and the leader(Zane) click and she forgets all about her relationship with David and the Cure. then croy brings her the cure during a hot party and she has no clue what it is. after taking the cure, which she splits with zane, tally and the crims must once again defeat the Specials and escape to the Smokes. but it's so much harder this time because specials have some new tricks up their sleeves and the smoke seem to be moving ever so oftern.
this book if Great and just as good as the first one. i can't wait till i get teh third and last book in the trilogy. it's going to be a good read.
i would reccomend this book to anyone 12+.

This is the sequel to the Uglies, which left off with Tally becoming a Pretty in order to find out if there is a cure. Tally has become a full fledged pretty and doesn't remember much about her past. She is enjoying her new life as a Crim, until someone shows up from her past to remind her of her mission. She escapes from the city to find that the deceit spreads further than she had previously known.
At first, I had a hard time getting into this book because I had read the first one so long ago, but once I remembered the characters, I really enjoyed it. It was full of adventure and unsuspected twists in the story. I am excited to read the next book "The Specials"

this is the second book in the trilogy. Tally has finally turned pretty. she gets to go to alot of parties and she is a crim, one of the best cliques in new pretty town. but then she starts to remember things from when she was ugly and her and her friend zane decide to leave. when they do, she has new problems from the old smoke reoccurring. when the specials threaten to find the smoke again, tally has a big desision to make.

The sequal Uglies was done perfectly. You get an inside look now at pretties; the endless parties, the beautiful people, the morally wrong operation. It all comes back to Tally, only this time a life is at stake. She must find the Smoke or lose her love. The end leaves you wanting more.

This is one of the best books that I have read... if you don't like this book i don't think that you will be inerested in any other book ever written.
Pretties is jam packed with alot of 'bubbly making' things. Form just climbing several story buildings to free falling form a hot air balloon with only your crash brackets and your hoverboard to catch you befor you hit the water... there are so many life or death situations in this book.
But there are some problems... Zane's brain is slowly being eatten away at and Tally doesn't know... so they have to find their way to the Smokes so Maddy (David's mom) can cure him.
But Tally doesn't realize that once she finds the New Smokes she would have to choose between Zane (her pretty prince) or David (her ugly prince).
Thinking that she was making the right choice she undergoes another surgery to become a Special. Though Shay may have been her friend, Tally doesn't what much to do with her now.... she only wants to be with Zane...
but who know when and if that will happen...
I CAN NOT WAIT TO READ SPECIALS!!!! :)

Pretties is the sequel to the novel called Uglies. In the second book we learn that after Tally has turned pretty she has become dim witted. She senses sometimes that something is wrong but she can't pinpoint it, after all what could matter more than being pretty and being a Pretty? What else is there right? These are questions that are planted in her mind like weeds always pulled before they have time to make sense. That is until she meets Zane. Zane is the leader of group of Pretties called Crims. Crims are short for Criminals and the group [prides themselves in the tricks they pulled when they were Uglies. Zane sees something in Tally and talks her into seeing beyond "Pretty thinking" He kisses her to keep her "bubbly" (a term that doesnt have a definite definition but tends to mean realistic or awake as in, in touch with reality). Tally and Zane realize that by keeping one another bubbly they can think clearly and the lucidity that came after becoming a pretty goes away but only temporarily. While at a Pretty part Tally sees and recognizes an old Ugly friend who leaves her a note that was written by her before she was Ugly. IT explains to her that she chose to turn pretty knowing the risks of becoming basically brainwashed so she could try out the cure. There are two pills and in a desperate attempt to avoid being caught by the wardens who have discovered she and Zane are on taboo property she takes one of the pills and so does Zane. For a while, everything is fine... until Zane starts getting horrible headaches. Something is wrong and its up to Tally to find out what or else Zane could die. Tally must choose the price of freedom and her boyfriend's life.

Tally has gotten her wish. She has fianlly become pretty. Her life is full of parties, and perfection. Her boyfriend Zane is totally popular, and hot, and she has everything she has ever wanted. A letter from her past comes saying that she is allowing herself to be cured from the lesions they put into their pretty minds to make them happy and bubbly all the time. There are pills that she and Zane split. What she doesnt know is that Zane took the people with the nanos that eat away at the lesions, and she took the pill that was supposed to stop the nanos from eating the rest of the brain. Slowly Zane is deteriorating. Special Circumstances is after the New Smoke that has been created since Tally accidently burned the other one down. Shay, is also pretty, but in an icy way. She is part of Special Circumstances. Special Circumstances are made up of almost indestructable people. There surgery is to the extenet. Their bones won't break, their power is at the max, they have night vision, and extra special hearing, allowed to heal within hours, and extra-ordinary speed. Shay's mission; to capture Tally, and it happens. "Face it Tally-wa, you're special." said Shay.

The sequel is not great. It's pretty bad and the cover--two punk-like teens with tons of makeup and hair dye staring at you reinforces that. What was the author thinking? The writing was way off course and he used phrases that were so bizarre, it sounded foreign. Seriously, who talks like that? Not anyone I know. Bad. Don't read it.
