When three friends gather for a playdate, they have to decide: Will they play princess, fairy, or ballerina? It's the perfect setup for a royal, magical, graceful, and very cute standoff, with a delightful (and slightly damp) ending. (We'll say only this: Keep your eye on the frog.)

Princess! Fairy! Ballerina! is the perfect book for all the princesses, fairies, and ballerinas in your life!

Fairy! Princess! Ballerina! is the ultimate read for all children! From the beginning, I felt a bit unsure about where the story was headed, but I shouldn’t have worried! The story went in the best direction it possibly could have, and the children I take care of absolutely adored it.

Just from the cover, the two little girls I care for were absolutely in love. It was glittery and the girls on the cover were dressed in beautiful outfits that they couldn’t stop admiring. As the adult, I loved all the little details. Each of the girls in the story had a “signature” color, and it was also used as the color of their dialogue. It seems like a simple thing, but it really made it easier to take turns reading it with the girls.

The story in general followed each of the little girls as they decided what to play. Just as it says in the title, each of the girls wanted to play princesses, fairies, or ballerinas! None of them could decide until the very end…

Final thoughts?

I really loved how the story ended! It was perfect in really every way. I think it showed how friendship really works: with compassion and compromising. And that in compromising, it can create an even better outcome then most expect! Also, all the activities the girls suggested were a bit stereotypical, but the ending happily surprised me & would surely surprise anyone else :)
