This book picks up shortly after where Ignite Me ended. Juliette is having trouble adjusting to the demands of her new position as Supreme Commander. Warner is struggling with how he should feel about the death of his father. I loved the introduction of Warner’s POV in this book, getting inside his head added so much to the story. My emotions were all over the place while reading this, I am so invested in these characters and care so much about what happens to them. Mafi’s writing is as great as the first books, she really pulls you in and it is hard to put the book down. The characters are so three-dimensional, they experience life and emotions in such a real way that it is easy to connect.

This book was definitely stressful, but that it also what has always made this series addicting. These characters have been through so much and they still have such a long way to go to find happiness.

This plot was great and I could never guess what was going to happen or what to expect. I can’t wait to see where the rest of this part of the series goes. If you like action, unique magical abilities, and charming characters, you will love this book.
