User reviews
* There is a lot of interesting problems the characters get into and have to solve
* I like how the setting took place in the south in Mississippi during the 1930's
The book Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by: Mildred D. Taylor starts out like any old book, slow. But dont get the bad Idea about the book; it has a lot of suspense, some action, and a good amount of feeling. If you read this book get ready for some long chapters, and a somewhat stubborn main character that, with the help of family and friends, survives a life of unfairness. With four-hundred acres of cotton land, half in debt will the Logans, and their family and friends survive the life of the unfairness, from whites?
I think this book is good for people who like a lot of suspense and are fascinated with historical fiction. Im wishing you arent reading the book because you have to, but rather you want to. Even if youre reading it because you have to I still think youll like it and have a good time with it. Like I sad it has some long chapters, for example the first one has twenty-nine pages. Now that may not seem like a lot but, if you have too read it mandatorily it seems like a lot more.
I think I would recommend this book to people that like, historical fiction, suspense, actively reading, long chapters so you can keep reading, and pretty much anyone who wants to read a good story. So if you want to read a good book, go out to a school library, public library, any place that might have it and get!

"Roll of Thunder,Hear My Cry" is a book reflecting segregation.Time are hard here. It's very sad for the people living here.

Uh oh! so many things happen in a few months.
This is a good book.I recommend this to many kids! Thanks for reading!
This book is all about the struggles of the family called the Logans. The children go on their own adventures. This book shows many examples of racism and shows the differences in time periods.
I enjoyed this book because it had suspence, interesting characters and a very good use of imagery. This is a quality piece of literature and has even won a newbery award.
I recomend this book for people who enjoy historical fiction books and books with an assortment of different literary devices.
This book contains many secrets and a surprising twist at the end. This book gave me great joy as Cassie and her three brothers are in the 1930s where the blacks and whites do not get along well. They are completely seperated. In this interesting story Cassie and her three brothers go through a series of unfortunate and fortunate events with many twists throughout the story. Although there are a few unanswered questions i recommend this book to all children.
In this book a young girl, by the name of Cassie Logan has many adventures. At first she is being held down. She is black so she has to walk instead of riding on a bus. The white kids enjoy splashing her with mud,but she doesn't know there is many worse things to come.

I honestley think you should only read this book only if you have spare time on your hands. This book takes place in Mississippi where Cassie Logan goes through life with her family without her dad. Along the way she encounters humilation from the whites that are killing and even burning blacks homes and what they hold dearest to themselves thier land .
Cassie and her family go through many challenges to save their land and keep their family close. They must survive the treatment that the whites give them, and survive the fact that they get splashed every day by the white bus and walk the rest of the way covered in mud. They Finally got tired of it and tried to get revenge. They must use poor books that whites had used and the condition had slowly dropped from new to very poor. There are many events that could just doom them.
I thought that this book was pretty good, but it was confusing. It was confusing because it just kept switching characters and there were just so many. Every time it introduced a new character, it was really only in dialogue. I could connect to it in many ways, but I thought that some of the events were long and took up too much space in the book. The book was interesting and pulled me in so that I felt like I was a character in it.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes historical fiction and to learn how whites treated blacks. You would also like it if you wanted to learn about sad times.
