This one is a lot of fun.

Joe and Mary are getting ready to have a picnic at the beach. They have their sandwiches all ready and head out for a fun day. They get set up and then a seagull swoops in and steals their lunch. Of course, this doesn't go over well with him. Especially when it happens the next day. The go to the lifeguard but it doesn't help. When Joe and Mary find Sal in trouble, they help him. The next thing they know, Sal has become their protector, stealing food from anyone who does them wrong.

I read this story with my three-year-old niece and she cackled the entire time at Sal's antics. The imagery looks hand-drawn and very well done.

Final Verdict: This is one that'll stay on the kid's shelf for a long time. Cute. Fun. Good for a few laughs with the kid.
