Saven Disclosure by Siobhan Davis

The Story:
Sadie uncovered the Saven Deception in book one, but this knowledge has never been more dangerous. Powerful players seek to use her for their own means, and Sadie struggles to protect those around her from the fallout. The person she needs most is far away. Who can she depend on in his stead? And will her heart survive this race for survival?

The Characters:
Sadie really grows in this Saven sequel! She learns to protect herself, but shows the same human weaknesses that make her character so relatable. Of added interest in Saven Disclosure, is the addition of a steamy love triangle! This was also a source of frustration as Sadie picked the opposite person to the one I wanted her to! Curse you, Sadie! I mostly forgave the author when one of Sadie’s friends stood up for her and let the male lead have it for being a jerk.
…The love triangle aspect is kind of like Twilight, but with aliens, instead of vampires and werewolves — and with a more likeable female lead.

The World:
The settings and world-building are vibrant in this sequel! The colors, the tone, the differences in race – of which we discover a few more— are described with succinct skill. Siobhan Davis has opened this science-fiction fantasy world up, and the possibilities seem endless!

The Readability:
Professionally edited, and easy to read. This book is even stronger than the first in this series. The author has drawn more emotion into her writing in Saven Disclosure – we feel everything the characters feel.
The novel is fast-paced as we bounce from shocking revelations, to power plays, to intense action scenes, and gripping relationship dynamics.

Final Verdict:
The second book makes or breaks a series, in my opinion, and this sequel certainly fulfilled my reader expectations, and more! Graphic imagery, intriguing worlds, and packing an emotional punch (though I will sulk about the love triangle thing for a little while). Very eager to read book three!

Favorite Quote:
“He’s still looking at me with fierce intensity, but there’s some different emotion developing behind it now.
Equally as potent.
Definitely as dangerous.
Undoubtedly, wildly unpredictable.”
