A book full of messages, from the lies that are told to the recognition of the thruth. A complete tearjerker that will make you rethink your priorities and show you that what you have come to believe might not always be true.
Mary E. Pearson is extraordinary, spinning the original Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet into a modern tale complete with it new twists. The Malones and Crutchfields have hated each other for generations. When Kait Malone's father is charged with the murder of a Crutchfield, the family loses its money and the two Malone daughters are forced to go to a Crutchfield school under the pseuodonym of Hampton.
There Kait meets Bram, a talented artist, who Kait soon discovers has a last name of Crutchfield. As Kait falls in love, she hides the thruth of her last name from Bram, building a web of lies which soon catches her. As you read, you take a journey with Kait from her memorable journal entries to her message to the world. You will realize that the world is full of opportunities. This book really held the meaning i was looking for, that we as the future generation have to follow our dreams.

Wow! This was the best book that i have ever read. The whole fact and the whole idea of the story is absoloutly breath taking. Whats even better is the concept of how kaitlan has to lie to keep her love for Bram from dying. I LOVE how in most parts of the book there is somewhat sexual parts that leave you breathless. Here is one of my favorite parts. (Chapter 11, He cupped my face in his hands, and I stared past his eyes into what seemed his soul. I prayed he could not see into mine. He slowly leaned forward and kissed the tears from my cheek. My skin burned and i found it was difficult to breathe, but then his lips travled across my face and found my mouth, and i forgot about breathing at all.) If you didnt read the rest of this book or read the book at all i really suggest you read it .

Then she meets Bram, the only reason Kaitlin looks forward to going to school. Its like love at first sight for Kaitlin. Then she finds out the unthinkable: Bram, is a Crutchfield.
From then on, Kaitlin must tell lie after lie to keep her relationship with Bram, but all lies find a way of having the truth come out.

This book, capturing the greatness of young love and betrayal. i felt like i was it the lif of this young woman. She was franticly wanting to tell her love about her. About who she really was, but she couldn't. The way her family was made her feel that it couldn't ever be changed. She knows that he is different. She knows that she can tell him and it would just have to take some time, but she doesnt say anything. She keeps lying until she cannot lie anymore. She tells her lover the truth. It is a wonderful love story about what love really is. Love is something that is true. If you really love this person and the person really loves you back, anything can happen. And this story captures it.
Its so wonderful. Enter into the world of young Kaitlin Malone. Feel her pain, and feel her tears.

After reading the summary of this book, I felt that this book had to be read. Once I began reading it, I could not put in down! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading romance novels. Everyone I know who has read this book has not given me any complaints.

Well whoever says this was a bad book must have somthing wrong in their heads because they are annoying stupid little bugs... i am one who read this novel of when i was about 13 or 12 or so... somewhere around there and it was a very good book... some plot scenes were a lil oversly- drama filled...but in the end it was a classic story about love, hatred, and willingness to get along w/ thine enemy... so it must be good for young adults and certian people w/ brains.

I feel that Mrs. Pearson wrote a very well written book. I love how she used the theme of Romeo and Juliet. I like how she kept the reader interested in how the outcome of the secret would turn out. I think that is were she went wrong. At the end, it didn't explain much of what happened the two kids and families. Overall, I think the book was great.
