After reading 13 to Life , I was anxious to find out what would happen to Jess, Pietr, and the rest of the Rusakova family in Secrets and Shadows . How could you not be anxious when you were dealing with werewolves, the CIA, and the Russian Mafia?
Nothings simple when you run with werewolves. Jess Gillmansen thinks shes seen it all but her eyes are about to be opened to even more danger and a reality far more paranormal than shes suspected. With Jesss realization that the Rusakovas mother is still alive and imprisoned, the groups choices become harder and trust more important. Lines are drawn
and relationships change as the broken Rusakova family struggles to reunite to free their motherand those who Jess thought to be normal
people show themselves to be much, much more&

In Shannon Delanys second 13 to Life novel, she leads readers on the wild journey of Jess Gillmansen. Jess life in Junction is anything but normal. Jess character is one of the most loyal characters you can read about. She keeps getting stomped on but still keeps coming back to help Pietr and his family. I wondered how much her love and loyalty could be tested before she finally gave up&but she never did. If youve read the first book in the series, you know the personal struggles that Jess has to deal with on a daily basis. It would be quite a lot to handle and then top it off she has to deal with a group of teenage werewolves and the CIA. She keeps pushing through and trying to do what she thinks is best. She faces obstacles everyday but never doubts her love for Pietr.
Secrets and Shadows is filled with many plot twists and turns, which I was excited about. I definitely didnt predict many of the turns. Shannon Delany does an excellent job of keeping the reader engaged. The ending completely caught me off guard and I found myself wanting more.
There is A LOT that happens in this book. Even all the little things along the way add up to so much more. I cant wait to see what happens next! If youve read the first book, do not hesitate to add this one to your collection.
