When I say I love this series, I truly mean it. From the very first page of Daimon to the very last page of Sentinel, I have been firmly enthralled, riveted, and glued to this story and cast of characters. The Covenant series is truly a legend among books in my opinion. Not only is the story genuine and engaging, the characters are easily some of my favorite YA characters of all time. Jen sparked my intrigue with Half-Blood, had me torn in Pure, captured my heart in Deity, (got me all emotional in Elixir), blew me away with Apollyon, and she gave one hell of an amazing conclusion with Sentinel. Sentinel stands out among its predecessors by really drawing out your emotions and sensibility. You’ve watched these characters go through so much and when you finally live the epic conclusion, you’re definitely left with a feeling of completion and satisfaction. At least, I did.
Alex has grown so much as a female character throughout this series, it just amazes me. She’ll always have that inner snark and humor that I love and adore, but she’s also become more responsible, sensible, and mature; especially considering all that she’s been through and what she faces in Sentinel. She’s still my favorite YA heroine, that’s for sure. I loved how real Jen kept Alex, especially after what happened with Ares in Apollyon. I got to see various sides of Alex I never thought I would and I loved it. The ending really got me all kinds of choked up and just seeing Alex handle it all just really made me want to hug her.
Aiden. Oh, Aiden. I can never say his name without a loving sigh afterwards. That man is just pure perfection. You all know how much I love him, and he doesn’t disappoint in this book. The love, care, consideration, and respect he has for Alex simply radiates off the pages and I can’t say enough how I wish this guy were real. Finally embracing their relationship after what happens in Deity and Apollyon, I loved how open and affectionate he was to Alex and how much he valued their love. You get to see a different side of Aiden here and I actually really liked it. I think it made him seem more real and really, if you ever doubted just how much he loves Alex, by the end, you’ll understand. This guy?! Ugh, I swear, I’m forever and always, a St. Delphi girl!
While I will say I live and breathe the romance between Alex and Aiden, I also loved Jen’s take on the mythology and how that aspect was a strong theme throughout all her books, but especially becoming more and more prominent as the books progressed. You definitely get your fair share of Gods and other mythical creatures in Sentinel and I like how Jen breathed new life into these age-old beings. I loved Apollo. Every time I read one of these books, I want to dive into Greek mythology, re-reading the ones I know and love, and reading those that I have yet to discover.
Let me also say that Seth truly won me over. I was hoping that Seth would redeem himself after all he did in the previous books and I can safely say he did that and so much more. He really surprised me quite a bit in Sentinel. In the other books, we got a playful, sexy, arrogant, and sometimes challenging Seth, but I always knew, deep down, he was a good guy. How good, is still yet to be seen, but he I liked the direction Jen took his character and his relationship with Alex takes on a whole new level after all is said and done. Honestly though, by the end of the book, I just wanted to hug the guy. I love that we’ve only barely scratched the surface of Seth, yet I care for him so much as a character. I can’t wait to know more about him.
I truly never wanted this series to end, (any chance to read more Alex & Aiden scenes is fine by me) but I am very happy with the way Jen ended it. Just thinking about this book and this series is getting me all emotional and making me want to re-read the series even though I literally just did that not too long ago. I tried really hard to savor every word and page, yet also wanting to fly through it so I could see what would happen next. Sentinel is everything you’ve come to expect from Jen and the Covenant series, and so much more. You get love, action, drama, friendship, all the crazy supernatural stuff, a touch of bittersweetness and tons of humor and entertainment. I can’t recommend this book, and this series, enough.

This was one of my most anticipated 2013 reads and despite having the ending spoiled for me just hours before release, I am HAPPY to say I was not disappointed!

SENTINEL was fast-paced, action-packed, delivering an Olympus-sized kick in the feels. Overflowing with love, sacrifice, redemption and plenty of Aiden St. Delphi, SENTINEL was everything I hoped for and a fantastic way to the Covenant Series!

Alex is still courageous, brave and full of badarsery! Aiden amps up the awesomeness and even Seth gets a chance to show what he's truly made of. There is a battle of EPIC PROPORTIONS leaving no one unscathed, the gods included, and the ultimate sacrifice is paid. HOWEVER, this ending makes sense, serves a purpose and most importantly - it will not leave you rocking back and forth in a corner. READ IT.LOVE IT.HAVE A CUPCAKE.

I'm a huge fan and have read almost all of her released YA's! And Sentinel did not disappoint. I finished it in less than 24 hours, flipping through the pages faster than lightning. Sentinel is a different take on Greek mythology and is immensely fun.

The main character is Alex Andros. She is what is known as the Apollyon. She's a descendant of the Greek god Apollo, and can control the five elements-air, fire, water, earth, and Akasha. Alex is fierce and loyal. Physically, she is very near unstoppable. She has witty comments, no matter the situation, and can constantly get the reader to laugh. Her boyfriend, Aiden drives me nuts occasionally. He's nice and sweet and protective, but he gets over protective and has a temper. I get that good characters have flaws, but his really make me want to smack him.

My biggest complaint about the book? The ending. It ended happily in a way I didn't expect-MEGA GOOD-but you don't find out what happened to the other characters besides the main few. I want to know what happened to Alex's friends and family! Do they live, die, or some other sort of thing. Oh, and this right here! Take a look at this and tell me you don't want to know more.

Deacon was on his feet, eyes wide, and he immediately started to backpedal out of the room. "I think I need...to, um, go find something else to do. Yeah."
Momentarily distracted from Apollo's sudden appearance, I narrowed my eyes at Aiden's brother. "What happened between you two?"
Deacon froze near the door.
The lopsided expression on Apollo's face spread. "Well, I would never kiss and tell."

Who else want to know more about what happened right there? I know I sure do! There are many other moments that aren't followed up on, that I would love to know more about and that I hope will be followed up on in the spin-off series. But even still, the book was fun and hilarious and I couldn't put it down. Despite it's faults, I give the book five stars and wave a sad goodbye to Alex and the Covenant series!

Lets just say Sentinel was freaking AMAZING!!! The ending totally caught me off guard and left me at the edge of my seat until I turned the last page! It literally almost had me rocking back and forth in the corner whispering to myself that every freaking thing was going to be okay.
The characters:
Aiden St. Delphi: I have always been on Team Aiden *cue invisible pom poms* and I think I am a more as ever. He is super dreamy, and can leave you in a puddle of mush. There is sooooo many other descriptions that can describe this guy but I am hit so hard in the feels you are lucky I am even able to get this much out. Let's just say this guy is amazing and Alex is incredibly lucky to have him in her life.
Alex: Alex has always been in one of my top favorite female heroines. She is incredibly brave, and when she is set out to do something she does it.
Seth: Through out the series I have been on and off if whether I like Seth or not. One moment I would believe he would change for the better but the next moment he would do something incredibly stupid. Lets just say he had me constantly banging my head against my bedroom wall. But honestly, I think he has finally changed for the better. He did certain things at this of this book that took a lot of guts. I mean ALOT! So yeah, I think Seth is now a total good guy!
If you haven't read this book or just plain out have not read this series yet then I HIGHLY recommend that you read it.

Wow. What an ending. I devoured this book, and loved every second. Well, some of it was hard. Sad, tragic, funny, sexy, violent, an army of awesome (yes, they do call themselves that, and are indeed made of awesome), twists and turns, with unexpected characters, turns of events and an ending that blew me away.
This was everything I wanted and more for a series ending. I have loved each of the books, swooning over Aiden, laughing with Alex, jaw dropped at the intense action and fighting. Smirking at the gods especially Apollo and Seth can be lumped into all of this too when they deserve it, rolling my eyes at other times, wanting to smack them, and not getting what was going on as well as in awe of the sacrifice and emotion going on with them. Aiden is as sweet, understanding, and supportive of Alex as well, and we get to see that streak of jealousy that makes me love him even more.
Alex has really grown in some ways, learning that its okay to be afraid, that she needs to open up. In others she is still the same stubborn, fun loving, loyal girl she has been throughout the series. I think that we really get to see her strength in new ways and that she steps up in so many areas in this one. I was so proud of her.
Seth really surprised me in this one, and what he ends up doing really had my jaw hitting the floor. He comes face to face with the bad decisions he's made and take a look at who he has become and what he needs to do to make up for it. I would love it if we got to see more from him so that we know what becomes of his choices. Hint, Hint Jennifer if by some chance you're reading this.
I know that all of my questions were answered and the threads that I can remember were wrapped up to my satisfaction.
It is so hard to review without spoiling anything, but this did not let me down at all.

Bottom Line: Swoony, action packed series finale with a mind blowing ending.
