Missing Harry Potter, I found Septimus and began reading.

After remembering that I was indeed in a different world, with different rules, particularly in the uses and ways of magyk and spelling, I was drawn into the story and the life of these characters in their own right.

Though the 'rules' may be different from what we all have found inside of Hogwarts, Septimus and his family and friends have forged their own paths in fantasy quite well.  I have enjoyed the series so far, and look forward to the next installment with great anticipation.

Magyk has to be one of my favorite all time books! It has several similarities with Harry Potter but, many differences too. If you are a Harry fan I would almost guarentee that you will absolutely love Magyk.

Here is a quick summary....
The seventh son of the seventh son is dead. Or is he...... Taken away by the midwife and proclaimed dead. I happens that the same night he dies his father finds a baby girl in the snow whom is roughly the same age.
Jenna Heap has always wondered why she doesn't have any resemblance to her older brothers. They all have curly hair and unmistakeable green eyes. Only her hair is straightand her eyes are a deep violet.

Read the book to find out who Jenna is and where she really comes from.

10 years ago&the queen gave birth to her firstborn child, the future queen. While the queen and the Extra Ordinary wizard were planning a celebration party, an assassin was loading a pistol. The assassin kills the queen. The queen drops her crying baby. The apprentice to the Extra Ordinary wizard grabs the baby. The assassin kills the Extra Ordinary wizard. The apprentice flees to the Wizard tower with the queenling.
A couple of days later& the Heap family welcomed their newborn seventh son, Septimus Heap, to their family. The first day of his life he dies.
10 years later& spies have found the queenling and plan to kill her at midnight. Will she escape?

I loved this book. I listened to the Audio tape and I found out that when I first read Magyk a year ago I missed a whole bunch of stuff. Anyone who loves Harry Potter or Charlie Bone will love the Septimus Heap series. I read the other books in the series and I love this one more than the others.

I loved the characters so much! My favorite character was Boy 412 and Jenna. They are so realistic. I loved the clearness of the story and how realistic it was (not counting the magyk). I cant wait to read the fifth book of the series called Syren. (Do not skip ahead in the series to books that sound better, read all of them in order!)

Look out for the Septimus Heap books!

Wow, I totally loved this book. It was mysterious, right from the start, and even from the start, I made assumptions that were actually sometimes incorrect about the characters' personalities and whether they were on the 'good or bad' sides. I'm a big fan of magical books, and just the title of this book enticed me to read this. There were clues everywhere. And destiny brought this book together so I could read it! =P Boy 412 is a boy in the army, and he is found in the snow... Who was to know who he really was? This really intrigued me, but I knew right away who he would be. But then another character later comes in and then all my thoughts are twisted... This was a really good book, though, and I'd recommend all readers who are willing to read a lengthy book for the pure enjoyment to read & cherish this book.

Ok, so I've found yet another series that I am just going to devour! I read this big chunker of a book in just a day, still fitting in school work and my regular job...that will tell you how much I loved this story. Luckily I have 2 more to go!

A first novel by English author Angie Sage, Magyk is also the first book in the Septimus Heap trilogy. The book opens with the seventh son of a Silas Heap, also a seventh son and head of a wizard family, being born to his wife Sarah while Silas is on his way back home from outside the village walls. As he hurries on home, Silas sees a bundle in the snow and hears baby cries coming from the blankets. He finds an abandoned newborn baby girl with brilliant violet eyes and decides he has no choice but to bring her home and raise her as their own daughter. When he arrives home with the baby girl, soon to be known as Jenna, he sees the midwife running out with a baby bundle, screaming that the baby is dead. Silas and Sarah lose their 7th son before they even get to know him.

Fast forward about 10 years and Jenna is still the only girl in the Heap household besides her mother. She loves her life in their small, cluttered house and is completely taken by surprise when the esteemed and rarely seen ExtraOrdinary Wizard, Marcia Overstrand shows up at the Heap home and states that Jenna is the long-lost Princess, daughter of the deceased Queen, and the Supreme Custodian, head of the castle, wants Jenna dead. Jenna and Marcia, along with her father, one of her brothers and a boy known as Boy 412, flee to Aunt Zelda's enchanted cottage, attempting to hide from the Hunter, sent by the Supreme Custodian.

The kids in this book band together and help the adults to fight off the recurring evil that is sent their way, in hopes of killing Jenna. The story is chock full action, great subplots, and a fabulous adventure. It definitely leaves room for the following book, making me glad I waited so long to read the series. Now I don't have to wait until book 2! I loved Magyk and think all of you will too. Those of you who haven't read it yet at least!

When a child dies at such a young age, it's no wonder that when the husband finds a new baby to replace the first, the mother will always (if grudgingly) accept it as her own. This is what happend to Semptimus Heap, or so was thought. A new born baby lying in the snow. No mom, no dad, and no family. Naturally Mr. Heap toook the child home to his wife. Earlier Mrs. Heap's seventh son had passed, and she felt a bond towards the new daughter, the only other girl in the family. She was named jenna Heap (as far as I can remember, I haven't read this in a while) and was loved and teated with care. But when p[eople start trying to assasinat the young girl, the Heap's are on the run, and they meet some unexpected people when they do. Funny, with a touch of heart stopping endeavor in the plot to kill the last heir to the throne. A MUST read.

Septimus is the seventh son of a seventh son of Silas and Sarah Heap, and he is stolen away the night he is born. Coincidentally, Silas brings home a cute, violet-eyed baby girl that he found out in the woods alone the same night.

Things are pretty peaceful until about 10 years have passed and evil thugs who murdered the queen dominated the castle figure out that the Heap's "child", Jenna, is none other than the Queen's missing daughter. This is the cue that begins a pursuit to freedom from DomDaniel, the evil old ExtraOrdinary Wizard and his two minions the Hunter and the Apprentice. Now they can trust no one except for close realations.
