Spy Glass was probably my favourite in the Glass series.

Opal has lost her magic. She feels like she's lost part of herself. So instead of devoting herself to a lifetime without magic, Opal decides to try and get it back. Obviously.

There is a love triangle in this book. Or maybe you could call it a love square, since there is four people instead of three (seriously woman, choose already! Yelena NEVER had these problems) There is Kade, a powerful Stormdancer, who has not got much personality. Opal's feelings for him are uncomplicated. Ulrick, a handsome, extremely overprotective glassmaker who lacks confidence, integrity, and any significant amount of magic, and Devlin, a handsome former blood-addict, who tortured and beat up Opal, and then switched souls with Ulrick to seduce and then kidnap and beat her up more, only to fall in love with her. And save her life. And her friends' lives. And apologise for all the stuff he did to her. And give himself up to the authorities. It's a little complicated.

Lots of drama, and so on.

The ending of this book was definitely not as I was expecting. Not that that's a bad thing. Maria V Snyder definitely has a talent for surprising you and writing awesome books with twisting plots. I want to be like her when I grow up. Just saying. :P
