Squirlish Shark in the Park is the second book in the Squirlish series and is just as charming as the first book. The book is about Cordelia, a girl who lives in Central Park with squirrels. She lives in the trees and speaks Chittering which is the language of the squirrels. Cordelia is summoned by the Queen of the Squirrels to watch over Prince Oliver while he seeks out the missing royal specter. A remarkable adventure leads Cordelia and Prince Oliver through Central Park, where they find the royal specter in an unlikely location.

What I Liked: The storyline is unique and playful. It makes the reader use their imagination as they envision Cordelia living in the trees and talking to squirrels in their language. The story is also humorous and I always chuckle when Cordelia tries to interact with humans. Cordelia often behaves awkwardly and reinforces the notion that she's more squirrel than human. Having Prince Oliver as part of the story and reading about his love of sharks was a great addition. As a result of his obsession with sharks, Prince Oliver leads Cordelia on an interesting adventure through Central Park, which includes a meeting with a pirate squirrel.

Squirlish Shark in the Park is a book that encourages young readers to use their imagination. I highly recommend this book for readers who love animals and adventure.
