Squirrels! This is Not a Book about Dinosaurs is a fun, silly book in which a squirrel is trying to teach you about the species yet keeps being inconvenienced by an interrupting dinosaur. Humor is interspersed throughout this book as this dinosaur frustrates the squirrel yet you are also getting a bit of dinosaur facts as he interrupts. 

What I Like: 
This book captures your attention from the first page as the squirrel comes out and introduces the subject of the book. Not too much after that, you are introduced to the very rude and self-obsessed dinosaur who interrupts the story throughout. Children will laugh as the dinosaur continues interrupting the squirrel who is only trying to teach others about his species. This is a great way to show children what interrupting can feel like to others and begin a conversation about how to behave as others are speaking. 

The colors of the book stand out and it's great that the font is included outside of the color so it is easy to read through. The short sentences and different characters' speeches break up the book in a way that captures the audience and holds their attention. 

Final Verdict: 
Squirrels! This is Not a Book about Dinosaurs is a great way to introduce children to animals they see daily. You can read this in a classroom where children might be struggling with interrupting others to begin that conversation with them. All will delight as other animals join the conversation and add their take on squirrels, you will take some fun facts away from this story.
