Review Detail
4.6 13If you like paranormal suspense with bite and a heroine with a spine of steel and firearm skills, Lili St. Crows Strange Angels is for you.
Welcome to the world of Dru Anderson. Its not pretty. Danger lurks around every corner for Dru and her dad. Shes seen too much in her sixteen years, moving from town to town to hunt ghosts, suckers and wulfen. Then Drus world goes pear-shaped in the form of her dad as a reanimated corpse and shes on her own.
Dru never expects help from Graves, a shaggy haired goth guy with pale green eyes, but when evil comes knocking he rises to the occasion. The favor is returned when she saves his life. Now Dru is no longer the hunter, shes the hunted. Enter Christophe, with looks that kill and fangs that might do the same. What he knows about Dru could change her life.
Forever.
Drus voice pulled me in from the beginning its tough, smart and not a little sarcastic. But Lili St. Crow keeps it real by giving us flashes of Drus vulnerability. Every back story detail we get about Dru and her way of life adds up to the strong girl vividly painted on the page. Fair warning, theres some bad language, but if your dad was a zombie, youd probably cuss, too.
Strange Angels was an intense ride, a book I read from cover to cover in one sitting. Set aside a block of time for this one (and read during the day if youre easily spooked). Highly recommended.
