A young college woman gets schooled in life, sex, and love in New York Times bestselling author Sophie Jordan’s sizzling New Adult romance series—where three Ivy League suite-mates testing their boundaries as they seek higher knowledge of just how far they can go. A born flirt and good-time party girl, Emerson has never had a problem finding a willing guy. She’s always chosen her hook-ups carefully, and she's never broken her three cardinal rules: Never let them see the real you. Never fall in love. Always leave them begging for more. Then comes Shaw. A hotty from the wrong side of the tracks, he’s immune to her flirtatious banter and come-hither smile. After rescuing her from a disastrous night at a biker bar, he doesn’t even try to take her to bed—he calls her a tease and sends her home instead. Unable to resist a challenge, or forget the sexy dark-eyed bad-boy biker, she vows to bring him to his knees. But instead of making Shaw beg, she finds herself craving him. For the first time in her life, she’s throwing out her rulebook. Suddenly, she’s the one panting for a guy she can’t control. A guy who won’t settle for anything less than the real Emerson, who forces her to do things she’s never imagined, including facing a past she thought she'd buried. A guy who just might leave her wanting more . . .

I have to say first off that I have not read the first book in The Ivy Chronicles and I was able to follow along seamlessly with this book. That being said, I am sad that I missed the whole back story on a few of the characters.

Emerson is definitely not like any other female leads I've read about. She's honestly like a lot of the boys. I was excited to read about a female lead taking charge though, but right away realized someone was wrong. Em is obviously going through some "stuff" and I immediately wanted to give her a big hug.

Enter Shaw. Now, while Shaw is swoon worthy and all that, I honestly found him a bit creepy. I know Jen (cupcakegirly) is going to give me "a look" with that comment, but I really did find him creepy. He was still swoon worthy and I loved how he took care of Emerson, but seriously, back off a little bit dude. For reals. While overall I loved his character, I just felt that he was a bit too "much" and a bit too demanding, however that's really what Emerson needed. So, while it was great for her, not so much for me. There, I said it. Don't hate me.

There was also a lot of drama here. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but again I just felt maybe it was a bit over the top. And again, don't get me wrong, I really did enjoy this book! I'm just trying to be honest. I'm still glad I read it. I still enjoyed it. It just wasn't my favorite.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I do want to go back and read the first book, and I will read the next book as well. I look forward to reading more by Sophie Jordan in the future! (please don't hate me for not being totally in love with Shaw!).

I've already told Sophie that Shaw is mine. I claim him. The rest of y'all can take a number and get in line. ;)

While most girls her age are looking for love and a happily ever after, Emerson is looking for the next no-strings-attached hookup. Past experience has taught her that love is more trouble than it's worth and often results in hurt, so what's the point? Being in control is better, easier, even with the not so nice reputation. Whatever. Emerson doesn't care what people think of her anyway. Not really.

And then she meets Shaw. (Who is all kinds of Shawtastic!) At first glance, he's everything Emerson doesn't want (tall, dark, and tattooed), everything she thinks she needs to protect herself from (leather jackets, motorcycles, and danger), but Em knows better than anyone that things are not always as the appear. She also knows that Shaw unsettles her in all the right kind of ways which scares her to death.

Shaw has learned that life is too short to play games regardless of how cute the head game player may be. He sees right through Emerson's shield of protection and isn't afraid to call her bluff. (*screams* I LOVE SHAW!) Shaw challenges Em to be real with herself, her friends and especially with him.

But being real means relinquishing control, something Emerson isn't sure she can do even if deep down it's what she wants. Even if it's exactly what she needs.

TEASE, is Book Two in The Ivy Chronicles and likes it's predecessor, FOREPLAY, is well written, jammed full of romance, feelings and swoon, with a twist I didn't see coming. There are plenty of graphic sexy times too, but overall, it's a great story of love, forgiveness and fresh starts.

TEASE is a Shawtastic addition to The Ivy Chronicles series!
