The Book case is a perfectly suitable mystery, with a cast of characters that will amuse readers both young and old. It’s an all-around good time. 

Daphne is new to St. Rita’s, a private all-girls school. She’s called on unexpectedly and asked to be an assistant assistant librarian. Yes, an assistant, assistant librarian. A wacky title for a wacky school, where there are holes in the floor from a cannonball—and midnight welcome parties with jam as the food of choice.

On the way to the school, she meets an older woman who notices her uniform and asks her to bring back a book she borrowed from the library. A book that's not suitable for a becoming girl of her age, but she finds it intriguing. Little does she know, the book will be the catalyst for mayhem and a missing girl.

Throw in George, a disheveled but charming young man; Emily Lime assistant librarian, and book watcher—and you’re in for a hearty laugh.

The Book Case is utterly clever and unputdownable. Questionable food, busy body students, vivid and imaginative teachers; made for a story you won’t soon forget.

The illustrations that accompany the chapters are so perfectly placed and depicted you’ll feel as if you fell into the story, a treat for the eyes. 

Highly recommended for all ages.
