I picked this book up more for me that I did for my children. The title was zany enough to draw my attention and I'm glad it did.

I loved the concept behind the story. Rosalia has an unusual collection, a collection of heads. The heads are from a wide variety of peoples ranging from an infant to a botanist to a traveler. There is also an interactive page for the reader to place an image of their head and write what would be in it. My children loved this!
The author explains the "Day of the Roses," which is an old Roman celebration equivalent to the Day of the Dead. I wish this was more prevalent in the plot, as we don't really make the connection until the very end.

The illustrations are intriguing. They are like a hodgepodge of items relating to the head, akin to a Picasso painting. They are as strange and unique as the heads they make up.

I enjoyed that the author included her own head at the end of the story. It's a fun way to learn more about her.
