An intricate narrative bringing out a picturesque imagination of the author, reverberating unknown Ainu culture and the footprints of experiences, that leaves a imprint of the author's mind Katherine Nader on readers, with characters who have suffered repression and are competing, to be the undisputed Forager. The quest for the title woven , would bring about an adrenaline rush in readers to jump to what happens next. A must read for adventure lovers and a showcase of imagination at it's best.

I love how each chapter is written from a different character's perspective, it's like mini stories within a bigger one. It shows how each character goes through the Foragers Contest to win $1 million, when really it is all a front in order for a samurai clan and an assassin clan to recruit members for their battle over S.S.O. This first book of the series was only the first round of the contest, I can't wait to read the second one to find out what the next round is going to be about. I love Maya, she's like the heroine of the story and team leader, I can totally see her leading the rest of the group and helping them get through this contest. I also like how Celio and his sister argue like little kids. Their love for each other is so cute to see and heartbreaking at the end. I also want to see more of Fisher and how he develops his supernatural powers, vibing into stuff. Definitely superhero material.
Good Points
My favorite characters are definitely the Mori Clan, they're so intense and I like the female leads, Maya and Mrs. Mori. Mrs. Kimura, head of the Kan, also makes a great antagonist. Although, it can be hard to tell sometimes as Mrs. Kimura and Mrs. Mori are such parallels of each other, they want the same thing. They started as friends years ago only to be each other's worst enemies, fighting over recruits in the contest to win their battle. I love how all the contestants get caught up in their world without knowing what the contest is really about, not the money prize, but for becoming an assassin. Can't wait for the second book and see how the characters develop over the course of the contest, especially when they find out the truth.
