Good Points
I don't usually read fantasy, I don't usually even like fantasy, but this picked me up and carried me all the way through. I had to surrender to it. There's hardly a let-up in action, and even though you have to suspend disbelief a little more than I'd have liked, it's a rollicking adventure with well-built characters (animal and human) and a plot that flows. There is loads of room for the author to have overdone the action, or led the reader into ludicrous unbelievability, but she avoids those pitfalls like a pro. Kudos to her. Also, though it's marked for middle grade, I'm convinced it's both middle grade and young YA
