Review Detail

The Invisible Story was intriguing from beginning to end about a lonely book in the library that never gets read. The illustrations were unique and perfectly suited for the surprising reason in the end of why the book in the library was passed over by most. The illustrations were colorless but conveyed texture much like in scrapbooking. The wisps of color floating out of the library stories and into the air felt more like thoughts and were impressionistic. Then we learn that the reason the book lacks illustrations and ink letters of its own is because its story is told in Braille and the bumps on the page convey the full story straight into the mind of the person running their fingertips over the page and suddenly the illustrations make so much sense. I truly hope this book is printed somewhere as a Braille edition since it encompasses and celebrates the community that needs Braille. Overall, I enjoyed the curiosity and surprise found in The Invisible Story.
