This was one of the best books that I have ever read. The story follows the life of a young boy who lives through the revolution in Afghanistan. He and his father escape to live in America leaving loved ones behind.
There are some really terrible scenes in the book that deal with the cruelty of the rebels toward the citizens of the country. Afghanistan went from a modern country to a backward society in just a short time.
Everyone who wants to know what Americans are fighting for should read this book.
