The Last Song

Since Nicholas Sparks wrote it, it is already a given that it will be sad. He always adds a dramatic twist at the end of his books, which is why I enjoy reading them! I will not spoil what happens but he gives indications early on as to what will occur so it becomes predictable. However, the ending of this book is so bittersweet and adorable that made me love it even more. What bothers me is that this book is not only about a romance as what the movie depicts it to be. This book is about rebuilding a relationship between father and daughter. Their relationship as the book continues becomes genuine and beautiful. It makes you truly value one's own relationship with their parents. It took a few chapters to really get into it but by the middle I could not put it down til the end. A must read for everyone. I definitely recommend it to all. And bevare you are going to cry-A LOT!
Of course, If I could change one thing about this book, I wouldn't want it to be so predictable, especially when it got towards the end. But The Last Song is a page turner! I enjoyed reading it and I believe anyone who reads it will enjoy it as well! Sparks does a fabulous job writing this novel it is a love story that also ties in how people can have family problems as well as trouble with friends. Not to mention it is an easy read and everyone can connect to at least one aspect this book has to offer.
I'm not really one to read a romance novel, especially one of those ones where the girl and guy fall in love over the summer.
Usually my first instinct would be: "Bleh! I'm not gonna read some fake mushy girly book."
But somehow I got roped into reading The Last Song and somehow I ended up loving it.
The book was in typical Nicholas Sparks style. In some was it reminded me of the notebook in the beginning: by the beach, carnival, annoying rich parents thinking they know what's best for their kids.
The best part to me was the stories underlying stories beneath the main character Ronnie's. Basically, Ronnie is forced to spend her summer with her divorced father, though she'd rather be in New York most likely getting into more trouble than she already is in because the crowd she hangs out with isn't the best to be around. But of course she finds things about this small little town that she likes and falls in love. Yada yada.
But there's a reason the book is called the last song. Ronnie use to play piano extremely well. So well that even after she quit playing Julliard still wants her to play for them .
This is a good book because it is simple and complex at the same time, if that's even possible. I have yet to see the movie adaptation, because the book was so good that I'm afraid watching the movie will ruin it for me.
Nicholas Sparks does it again with another outstanding book, The Last Song. This tear-jerker had me hooked on it from beginning to end. Its a great book and has a meaningful lesson that ties in throughout the whole story.
The book is about Ronnie, a rebellious eighteen-year-old from New York City who lives by her own rules. Forced by her divorced mom, Ronnie must spend her whole summer in North Carolina with her dad that she had barely spoken to for three years. As summer progresses, Ronnie adjusts to her new temporary home and learns that her rebellious character is covering up a softer side of herself. As she starts to let her guard down, Ronnie finds things that she wouldve never expected to come across. She finds love, tragedy, and most importantly a loving and caring father that would do anything for her.
The thing I like about the book is it is in 3rd person omniscient view. Each chapter changes the focus to another character in the book. I definitely recommend this book to girls, since it is more of a romance. Though it is a simple book to read, it has a great story within it about the importance of family. This book is very sad, but definitely worth reading. If you have read any of Nicolas Sparks books and enjoyed them, this book is for you.
Just as Nicholas Sparks has done in his previous books, he brings his readers through a journey of emotions. He captures a unique love story between two teenagers that seem to be very different from each other. This story shows how second chances and moments in life can lead us back home. I thoroughly enjoyed The Last Song because it brought me through a series of emotion with a bittersweet ending.
This book is a lesson at life itself. As Nicholas Sparks has done in his previous novels, he has shown us how to love, cry, and a heart warming story about a girl named Ronnie. Not only does he capture Ronnie's point of view, but also the people around her. Such as Will Blakelee, the boy she has a summer fling with. It this book shows you the many ways to fall in lvoe, and how soon it can catch you off guard. They also show her Dad, Steve's point of view. They show how your relationship with somebody you love can grow fonder, with just the tiniest of space and love. This is a great heart turning story.
