Reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland, the reader is transported to wonderful lands and adventures. The Wutherington Diary series is great for a variety of age levels. It makes a wonderful read aloud for younger children and a fantastic "classic storybook feeling" read for older YA readers as well.
Tammy finds herself in a world of fantasy filled with strange things and creatures. On her journey she meets some very friendly characters as well as those who are truly evil. It is because of this journey that Tammy gets to grow and change. The reader watches her become brave in the face of danger, make new friends, and take charge when the moment calls for it.
The illustrations bring everything to life making this a true classic. The pacing of the story is perfect and each plot devices leaves you spell-bound. Definitely a new classic to put on the shelf.
