A stunning conclusion to one of my favorite trilogies. I love that Tolkien's world is so thoroughly built. I can imagine it clearly every step of the way. I also love that Tolkien's characters must face hard choices. None of them are perfect, and their flaws drive the plot as much as their choices. It's an incredibly epic battle between good and evil, both outside the characters and within the characters. Love it.

Frodo has been taken by Orcs, Pippin is riding for Gondor with Gandalf, Merry is with the King of Rohan, and Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli have set off for the paths of the dead. The Shadow is approaching Minas Tirith.
Do to the fact that, in a truly groundbreaking event, a decent movie has been made out of this book, a lot of people read the Fellowship of the Ring or The Two Towers and never make it this far. But, good as the movie is, the book is still better, and, no matter how slowly you read, you really should read it at one point.
I would personally suggest you read the appendix as well.

J.R.R Tolkien has done it again! The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is the most powerful set of stories I have ever read in my life and will always stay close to my hear forever.
Though, the language is a little difficult to understand at first, it's very easy to pick up the pace if you keep reading.
If I had to choose keywords to describe the story, it would definately be:
-Brotherhood
-Courage
-Friendship
-Hope
-Adventure
Oh, I could go on forever. :P Definately give it a go! You won't regret it! :D

This is the best of all of J.R.R. Tolkein's work by far. The Return of the King is spectacular and interesting, gripping, vigorous and heart wrming. Finally the Fellowship have made it home but not before facing Mordor's largest army yet. The king is here and these hobbits are no subjects. Please read this book and don't skimp on the movie because the movie is equally as brilliant if not more so. All I can say is that Tolkein is a BEAST of a writer.

I beleieve this book was amazing because there are many battles of giant size and and a interesting plot. The plot is good because it starts with one plot then breaks into 2 plots that don't send the character in each plot back to each other untill the end of the book. The fights are amazing they have many twists as the tide of battle turns back and forth. Overall I believe this book is the best of the trilogy and should be read by anyone that has the time to read this extensive book.
