The Mother's Wheel is the final book in The Bond Trilogy by Robin Kirk. In this last book, we follow Sil, a loving, conscientious, and reluctant hero. Sil is unique like all the characters in this world; she is an amphibian who we meet in book one. We have three characters we met in each book, Dinitra, Fir, and now Sil, each desperate to escape the world they live in, each finding out a horrible truth and making hard choices about loyalty. Robin Kirk had created a world with far-reaching possibilities, especially when she introduced us to the many combinations of creatures mixed with others. The orangutan that loves poetry we meet in this third book is just one example.
The characters are wonderfully written, and being able to follow a different character in each book sets the story out from others. If you liked the previous books, you want to know what happens with all three characters in this final book.
