This book was so fun and cute! I was looking for a light, easy romance, and that’s exactly what I got.

Elijah and Jessica are complete opposites in nearly every way, but they work so well together. It was truly one of those situations where they bring out the best in each other, and I loved seeing them grow as the story unfolded. Elijah is the extremely son of the man who owns Haneul Corporation. He’s privileged, naïve, and has never had to work for anything; he’s also reserved and quiet. Jessica is an outgoing, oversharing young woman who’s prepared to work her butt off just for the chance at getting a letter of recommendation for scholarships.

And they happen to have the same Korean name, which results in them swapping places for the summer. So, Jessica is in an exec training position while Elijah takes her underpaid internship. In order to pull this off, they have to work together though. More than that, Jessica pushes Elijah to find out what he wants in life, and Elijah encourages Jessica to keep pushing for what she wants when the misogynistic leaders of the company don’t take her seriously. They both believe in each other so much, and that friendship is honestly my favorite part of the book.

Overall, the plot and pacing were great. It was a fairly quick read that sucked me right in. I didn’t want to stop because I was just really enjoying seeing the two get closer, as well as the shenanigans they got into with their friends.

I will say, however, that the ending felt kind of abrupt. There was closure and everything, but the last chapter ended right after the big conflict, and then the epilogue jumped forward in time, summarizing a ton of stuff that would have been nice to see on page. The end just felt a little underdeveloped and really fast, but other than that, it was fantastic.

I would highly recommend The Name Drop to those who enjoy upper YA romance! I’ll definitely be going to check out Lee’s other books!
