Best friends Carmen, Lena, Tibby and Bridget are going their own ways this summer for the first time. They stumble upon a perfect pair of jeans that some how happens to fit all 4 of their different body shapes and sizes. They decide that they are magical. Throughout the summer they share these pants as a way to keep in touch with each other. For the first time they each experience different situations that help them mature. Even though they are miles and mile apart, the pants bring them close together.

If you are one of those people like me, who love reading four books at the same time, then you should DEFENITELY read this.
This is about forur girls, Lena, Carmen, Tibby, and Bridget who are best friends, and they are spending their first summer apart. I beleive it was the day before they departed that they came upon an old pair of used jens in Carmen's closet. She was about to throw them out, then they all tried them on, and it fit them all perfectly, which is a sign of magic, seeing as they fit over Carmens big butt, and flattered Tibby's non- existent one. They think this is magic and they share the pants over the summer, letting them lead the way.
I happened to LOVE this book because it was the price of 1 book, but it was 4 books in 1.Does that make sense?

I love this book because I can relate to each of the characters. I have at least one atribute that is the same as each of the characters. That is the great part about the book... it can easily relate to the life of any teenager. It is better than the movie because they add more intense and funny parts to it. This book is great for all teenage girls.

This book starts out with four best friends all going to be seperated for the first time this summer. These friends have known eachother since they were born, but they all are completly different.
Earlier in the year, one of the characters, Carmen, was in a thrift store and bought a pair of old jeans. When she got home, she forgot all about them and put them in her closet. But when all her friends were over the day before they seperated, she found them in the closet. All her friends wanted to try them on, but they were all sure they wouldn't all fit them, as they were all completly different sizes.
After all trying them on, they found that tey had fit everyone! They decided to send them to eachother during the summer after they had worn them.
I really liked this book. It was funny, and it really showed the connections between the charaters. Overall, this is a great read for ages 12+. If you liked it, be sure to check out the sequels, The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, and Girls in Pants.

Share the Pants. Share the Story. That is what Lena, Tibby, Carmen and Bridget do, their first summer apart. They find a pair of pants in a thrift store which magically fits all their different figures, so they decide to share among them.
The pants travel from lena in Greece, to Bridget in Mexico, to Crmen and to Tibby back home. However, the story of the sisterhood is more than just the pants. Each of the sisters have their own unique personality. Crameren is smart and frank, Lena quite and beautiful, Tibby filmmaker and not afraid to voice her opinions and Bridget, bold and mischevious. It's a wonder how four girls so different can be the best of friends.
The story is about their problems too. Bridget falls head over heels in love with her coach. Lena is challenged to reveal more of herself, Carmen has to deal with her step-mom and step-siblings. And Tibby strikes an unlikely friendship with a girl you has cancer, Bailey.
The book is poignant and touching, espeiclaly when Bailey passes on. It's good for teen girls who just want to enjoy an interesting read.
Overall, it's witty, touching and gives the reader a glimpse into four very believable teens and their lives.
