Read the book that started it all.
Join Lena, Carmen, Bridget, and Tibby as they share a pair of pants over an incredible summer. They each grow in their own way, yet grow together as well. Each girl is doing her own thing for the summer. And to help them get through the first summer apart, they choose to share a "magic" pair of jeans.
Read this book to get to know them and to find out what it's like to have "sisters" there when you need them the most. It might not be as good as the movies but you should take the time to read. They really are great.

This book was very touching in different ways. One way was that it showed the true meaning of a beautiful friendship. Another way saddens the heart but it would spoil a major event so I won't talk about this. The book was really touching and was a good read for teenage girls. I found that when I started reading I couldn't put it down. This book was a lot better than it's movie adaptation.

This book tells the story of four best friends who are spending the summer apart for the first time.

We learn about each of them, and the challenges they face. No matter what, their best friends are always there for them.

Makes you think about your friendships, and how valueable they are.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is an amazing book. It is about these four best friends who do everything together and have never spent any time apart. Then one summer that changes and they all go to visit either family or go to camp or even just get a job and do not see each other the entire summer. Their names are Tibby, Lena, Carmen and Bridget. One of the girls had gotten a pair of thrift shop pants and just through them in her closet. One day they were found and everything changes. These pants fit all of the girls perfectly even though they are all of different sizes and shapes. They make up 10 rules to go with pants that all have to follow. This is a story about their lives with the pants. I would recommend this to any girl, a guy may enjoy it, but its not that likely.

The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants is the first book about 4 different girls that had been friends since birth. Carmen, Lena, Bridget (Bee), and Tibby, are spending their first summer apart and each goes through challenges and changes in their lives while keeping their friendship through a pair of magical pants. The story is told through the four main characters. They tell their story and experience during their time apart and by the end of the summer, they gather to share their stories, some happy, some tradgic.

I really enjoyed this story and went on reading the books that follws. This book really brings out the true meaning of friendship, where they stand by each other and support each other through their toughest time.

I read this book about 4 friends who've grown up together and are now spending their first summer apart. They encounter 'magic' pants they decide to share through the mail over the summer - sounds lame, right? Yeah, okay, the pants part, kinda lame. It's not really about pants though. And it's not just for young adults. The girls are 16 in the book and while two of them do have their first real encounters with love and boys, the others, well, one has her word turned upside-down by an annoying younger girl who puts life in perspective - truly a wise and touching girl, and the other faces a change in her family structure that a lot of kids could relate to.

I like that the book seems to honestly portray the girls' trials and tribulations, though I do doubt how 'real' it would be for 16 year old girls today - at 16 first encountering love/boys? The girls are all, despite their shortcomings, good, all-American (even the puerta rican) girls who don't seem to get in a lot of trouble. I find it doubtful that the four different girls would have remained friends despite their VERY different interests, but I also can suspend my disbelief and enjoy that even if it's in a fictional world, friends can remain friends depite differences.

Four best friends are separated for the summer, going to camp or visiting relatives, etc. They manage to stay in touch by writing to each other and taking it in turns to send round a pair of pants (that somehow, miraculously, manages to fit all four of them). It's the first time they've been separated for this long, but all four of the girls have adventures of their own.

Tibby is left at home working in Walmart, and strikes an odd relationship with a girl who ends up helping Tibby with her documentary. Lena goes off to Greece, where she meets a charming young man. Carmen visits her father, only to find that he has a completely new family. Bridget goes to soccer camp in California and gets a crush on one of the coaches.

Each learn valuable lessons during their time apart, but as promised manage to still be there for one another when it matters most. Their deep friendship is wonderfully moving, and the characters themselves are pleasantly believable.

A fun, girly read.

Best friends Carmen, Lena, Tibby and Bridget are going their own ways this summer for the first time. They stumble upon a perfect pair of jeans that some how happens to fit all 4 of their different body shapes and sizes. They decide that they are magical. Throughout the summer they share these pants as a way to keep in touch with each other. For the first time they each experience different situations that help them mature. Even though they are miles and mile apart, the pants bring them close together.

I love this book because I can relate to each of the characters. I have at least one atribute that is the same as each of the characters. That is the great part about the book... it can easily relate to the life of any teenager. It is better than the movie because they add more intense and funny parts to it. This book is great for all teenage girls.

Share the Pants. Share the Story. That is what Lena, Tibby, Carmen and Bridget do, their first summer apart. They find a pair of pants in a thrift store which magically fits all their different figures, so they decide to share among them.

The pants travel from lena in Greece, to Bridget in Mexico, to Crmen and to Tibby back home. However, the story of the sisterhood is more than just the pants. Each of the sisters have their own unique personality. Crameren is smart and frank, Lena quite and beautiful, Tibby filmmaker and not afraid to voice her opinions and Bridget, bold and mischevious. It's a wonder how four girls so different can be the best of friends.

The story is about their problems too. Bridget falls head over heels in love with her coach. Lena is challenged to reveal more of herself, Carmen has to deal with her step-mom and step-siblings. And Tibby strikes an unlikely friendship with a girl you has cancer, Bailey.

The book is poignant and touching, espeiclaly when Bailey passes on. It's good for teen girls who just want to enjoy an interesting read.
Overall, it's witty, touching and gives the reader a glimpse into four very believable teens and their lives.
