Review Detail

The Story of a Book perfectly captures the many joys of reading. From the baby who nibbles on the book to the many reasons we choose to read fiction is explored. The pictures are engaging with vibrant colors and so many details to take a minute and pour over before turning the page. The author and illustrator do a great job of being inclusive in the representation of who likes to read. I like the acknowledgment that sometimes a book is too hard or not the right choice. The ending where the thoroughly loved and used book gets a second life as material for artwork is nice. Overall, this is an engaging book with an affirming message of the joys of reading.
