For as long as she can remember, twelve-year-old Emily Windsnap has lived on a boat. And, oddly enough, for just as long, her mother has seemed anxious to keep Emily away from the water. But when Mom finally agrees to let her take swimming lessons, Emily makes a startling discovery — about her own identity, the mysterious father she’s never met, and the thrilling possibilities and perils shimmering deep below the water’s surface. With a sure sense of suspense and richly imaginative details, first-time author Liz Kessler lures us into a glorious undersea world where mermaids study shipwrecks at school and Neptune rules with an iron trident — an enchanting fantasy about family secrets, loyal friendship, and the convention-defying power of love.

What I liked:
What would you do if you were learning to swim for the first time and when you entered the water, you turned into a mermaid? That is precisely what happens to our character, Emily Windsnap, and as a result, she will find the truth about where her father is and more about who she is a half-human, half-mermaid. Emily eventually makes friends with a mermaid, and her father is being held in prison by the king of the mermaids. Now, her task is to get her mom to remember and to get her family back together at all costs.
Final Verdict:
Middle-grade readers will read this book and learn about overcoming obstacles, blocking bullies, and loving loyalty—the power of love and the quest for justice takeover in this captivating mermaid tale.

The tail of Emily windsnap is a book made by Liz Kessler. A girl that is 12 year old name Emily, finds out that she is half mermaid and she is trying that find her merman dad. It is a amazing adventure in the ocean. One girl fight the whole ocean to have the right to be with her dad and mom, well may be not the hold ocean there is one mermaid help her (Emily's BFF). Her father fell in love with her mom and got put in jail for falling in lover with her (she a human)... think that I gave to much of the book, but I will not give the the ending away. This way you enjoy the book like I did. It first book that I ever read to the end, and I think it the best book every.

The little amount of Illustrations in the book is amazing.

I read all three Emily Windsnap books and loved them all, number one in particular. Emilywindsnap is a normal girl on land but turns into a mermaid when shes in the water, she lives on a boat with hare mother who is afraid of water. Emily is always getting herself and her mer freind shona into trouble during their underwater adventures. These were great books and i really hope the author comes out with a fourth.

This is the best book i have ever read and i will soon start the other two books that follow this one. The Tale of Emily Windsnap and the other two are the best i have read and will in 2007. I know they came out in 2003 but this is when i discovered these books, the key to me!!!
