Once again I find myself frustrated because I really wanted to like this book but I didn't. :( The cover is cool and the summary intriguing but the story itself was lacking for me. The romance felt like it happened too quickly and was silly at times. Travis' secret is revealed too soon and isn't nearly as suspenseful or creepy (in a cool way) as it should've been.

I found Shane to be overly dramatic and annoying and while I'm all for Team Soul-Mate, there needed to be more conflict for me between her, Logan and Travis to make it "believable". Kelsey is a strong female character but unfortunately, we don't get to appreciate her very much until last part of the book. Logan was all over the place as a character and seemed cartoonish to me. Travis was the most believable out of all of them which is ironic when you think about it but even he was overboard a lot of the time in "cowboyness".

The spirituality in here is a mixed bag with elements of Christianity, mysticism and the occult which can be confusing and hard to keep track of. The ending certainly leaves it open for the next book in the series but it seems predictable to me. Time will tell though.
Good Points
Cool cover!

I really, really wanted to love this book! It sounded so interesting, so tempting, and I had high expectations for it. But, The Temptation fell flat for me. It wasn’t the story that I didn’t like. Shane and Travis were adorable, although at times the connection they had seemed forced and weird. I really loved the paranormal/supernatural/ghost thing that this Kindred series is about. That is the main reason why I will read the next one. (Uh, that cliffhanger is killing me!)

It was the writing that I couldn’t get past. It didn’t seem to flow, and this made it hard to read the story. There were many things in this book that seemed out of place and unnecessary. Some things really didn’t add anything to Shane and Travis’s story.

So while I want to read the next book in the Kindred series, I’m not eager to run out and buy it the first day it hits shelves.
