The Truth About Forever is a good book, if somewhat predictable. It is written by Sarah Dessen, whose stories always seem to follow a similar path, but yet, they are each unique and memorable in their own special way. Maybe their individuality comes from the fact that her characters are always so well developed. I have my favorite characters, as well as the characters that get under my skin. My favorite characters are the characters I can relate to, such as Delia, a frazzle-brained chef who never seems to have enough time for anything, and Kristy, a fashion-forward kind of girl. The characters that get under my skin are the characters whose opinions I disagree with such as the heroine's mother, who completely cuts her daughter off from the world, and the heroine's ex-boyfriend, who believes everything must be perfect at all times. All these factors together make The Truth About Forever an excellent read.

Over the summer, I think I read all of the Sarah Dessen books within 2 weeks. Out of all of her books, this book was my 2nd favorite book. I think we all need a Wes to help us realize that sometimes we need to listen to ourselves and not everyone around us. We need to do what we think is right. That is why I love this book so much. And of course the fact that it has romance in it. I think that's what made me not want to stop reading. I wanted to know when Wes and Macy hook up. I'm a teen, what do you expect?

Summary: Macy Queen's summer is going to be pretty low-key. She's going to work at the library, filling in for her boyfriend Brian who is away at Brain Camp. However the summer takes a twist when she has to spring into action when the caterer her mother hired for a work dinner is in total disaster mode. The company is called Wish Catering. It consists of Delia: so pregnant she's about to blow, Monica: slow-walking and monotone, Bert: total sci-fi fanatic, Kristy: with her scars and beauty, and Wes: the good-looking artist that Macy connects with most. What was a once-in-a-lifetime experience of catering to save her mom's dinner turns into a job Macy truly loves... especially more than the library where she clearly doesn't belong. Her mother, however, thinks Macy should continue what she's been doing during the beginning of the summer: studying for the SATs and working at the library. But Macy realizes that there's more to life than being an A+ student. Living life, for real, is so much better. Her relationships with her friends from Wish teach her that. Macy's mother however, doesn't concur. But what does she know if she doesn't even grieve Macy's dad's death correctly, taking everything that reminds her of him from the house like he wasn't even there? This summer Macy is going to learn a lot more than what she bargained for.
My Thoughts (contains spoilers, seriously): This was truly an amazing book. I loved Macy's character because she is so realistic... I feel like she could be walking the streets even when she's just a character. I felt so good when she left the library. I was like "you go, girl!". Kristy is really cool and confident. Wes, wow, I totally fell in love with him. Him and his angel statues are beautiful. He is so sweet and so perfect with Macy. I was so aggravated at Brian when he sent the email to take a break, I was like "what the heck, what kind of boyfriend does this?". Macy's mom was the character that got me the angriest. I was mad when reading her parts, wishing she could've read the book I'm reading in Macy's point of view. She works so much and expects so much from Macy... she's just a teenager, let her relax. In the end I was so happy Macy and Wes ended up together because they deserve each other.

Macy expects a long, hot summer. Her boyfriend Jason is at camp so she takes over his job at the library. But when Jason breaks up with her over an e-mail, Macy decides to take a risk and join the Wish Catering Crew. There she meets Wes, an unbelievable guy. They tell each other their secrets and all is swell. Except for the fact that Wes has a girlfriend already.

This book is also one of my favorites. The characters are fantastic! By the end of the book you'll wish Wes was YOUR boyfriend. I have no complaints. If all books were as good as this one, the world would be a better place!

Wow. Sarah Dessen became my favorite author after reading THIS BOOK. She captured me. I got it from the library and let a friend read it first. She's not one who's big on reading by any stretch of the imagination and she told me 'Wow, you will eat this book up. It's incredible!' And man oh man was she right! I wish that I could make a movie of this book, because as I was reading it I was putting people that I knew as the characters which made it so much more real.

Sarah Dessen does that though. Even if it's something you've never done, or never had happen to you (this doesn't happen often in her books) you still feel like it's happening to you through THE CHARACTERS. I don't know how she does it, but if you're looking for a good book. LOOK NO FURTHER. You have one here.

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen is a lesson on what it is to be young. Macy, a girl who has recently lost her father, finds that the rest of her life is also falling apart. What Macy doesn't see right away is that her stubborn affinity for the old things in her life has become self-destructive. It isn't until she opens herself up to new things that she realizes "forever" can mean a lot of things when you are young. In the end, this book was enjoyable because the lesson it teaches- about being young and open to change- can be applied in the lives of young adults everywhere.

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen is a book about a girl named Macy who is silently grieving over her father's death. She lives with her mother, who deals with her husband's death by staying up 24 hours and 7 days a week working. Both Macy's boyfriend Jason and her mother make her feel like she must be prefect. In fact, Jason tells her that maybe they should take a break while he's at Brian Camp and she's apparently not taking her library job to seriously plus she told him she loved him and that was too much commitment for him to handle. However, when she meets the people of the Wish Catering crew her life began to change. Macy meets the crew when her mothers holding an opening house. Macy meets Delia a very caring person first, Kristy a fashion diva, and Wes, artistic, insightful, person who changes Macys life forever. He changes her view on life and she falls in love with him. Once Macy begins to be happy things go into a whirl wind of a mess. Her mother isnt ready for Macy to change, so she grounds her and tells her she may no longer see the Wish Catering crew again. However in the end Macy learns the truth about forever is that It is always changing, it is what everything, and it is happening right now. The truth about forever was an excellent novel, I loved it, and I give it a 10 out of 10.

Seriously, I can't get enough of this book. I got so into it that I read it in like 3 hours.

Enyways, Macy's is daddy's talented girl. She can run si fast that it almost looks like she flies. But when her dad dies right in front of her, she quits she running and sticks to school. Now, a year later, Macy has the "perfect" boyfriend and perfect grades, but a few weeks after her boyfriend goes to brain camp, he decides that it would be best to go on a break. That's when she meets Kristy, Monica, Bert and Wes. a talented artist. now that she has friends she can count on she just has to fine a way to brake in her mothers thought so she can help her mother grief ever her fathers death.

Sixteen-year-old Macy Queen expects to spend her summer working at the library while her boyfriend, Jason, goes away to Brain Cramp. During her free time, shes either studying for her SATs or grieving over the recent death of her father.

But when Macy is forced to help out in the kitchen at one of her mothers open house events, she meets the crazy Wish Catering crew. Theyre everything Macy isnt - they live by the moment and though theres usually chaos in the middle, everything is okay in the end. Before long, shes hired to help them and ditches her job at the library. She spends all of her time with the Wish crew - quiet Monica; fashion obsessed Kristy; big hearted Delia; and best of all; artistic and understanding Wes. How is it that she can plan her life out in front of her and change her life to fit Jasons, when theres a whole different world of people out there?

The Truth About Forever was the first book by Sarah I ever read. Id heard so much about it that I couldnt help picking it up at the local K-mart. I had high expectations what I read this book and I wasnt disapointed.

Sarah Dessen pulls off a worn plot with grace and adds an unexpected twist. The characters are easy to relate to, three dimensional and romance doesnt rule the plot. There were definitely moments my stomach was aching and other moments I was cheering Macy on. The meaning is great and it had me thinking about what forever really is.

Id definitely recommend The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen to anyone who enjoys books with three dimensional characters, a touch of romance, and a great plot.
